if the fixture manual disagrees with the light board, the manual wins. check whether your gear counts from 0 or 1.
type a dmx address and the nine rockers set themselves, or click the switches and read the address back. it shows the addition as it goes, so you can check it against the sticker on the yoke without doing binary in your head under a work light.
the switches are plain binary — 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 — added up. the catch is what the fixture does with that sum: most read address = sum + 1, so address 1 is all switches off, while some count the sum straight. both conventions are one button apart.
